Diwali is celebrated at Don Bosco, Dabolim

The celebration of Diwali, ‘The festival of Lights’ came alive at Don Bosco School, Dabolim on the 2nd of November 2018, when the whole school wore a festive look with diyas, colourful flowers and lanterns adorning the corridors! The Rangoli done by the Teachers added to the magic of the festivities!

The Pre-Primary teachers were in charge of organizing the activities this year, from the decorations to the Special Assembly. The Assembly began with a prayer and then lightening of the lamp by the Headmistress Ma’am Brenda, some of the Staff and a few students. Teacher Sandhya spoke about the significance of the festival, how good conquers evil and also about why and how Diwali is celebrated across India. Besides sensitizing the students to the ill- effects of crackers, she also shared some guidelines on being safe while bursting crackers. The Pre-Primary students showcased the spirit of Diwali through a mesmerizing dance performance choreographed by Tr. Deepa and Tr. Uma. An inspiring skit was also staged, showcasing the Diwali celebrations of the modern era and ancient times. A captivating dance performance was the final item of the day.

The Assembly concluded with Ma’am Brenda giving the message of a clean, peaceful and a bright Diwali.
