The KDS Remedial School Project (RSP) has commenced for the new academic year 2017 – 2018, in the Konkan Regions of North and South Goa and the District of Sindhudurg in Maharashtra.
At present 4 Centres in North Goa, 4 in South Goa and 11 Centres in Maharashtra are operating successfully with an average of 25 students per Centre. We hope to resume 5 more Centres by the end of July.
At the RSP Teachers’ meeting held on the 17th of June at Odxel, the new Executive Director of KDS, Fr. Lawrence Monteiro, stressed the reason for remedial teaching i.e. developing students to become “better human beings tomorrow”. He further stated that if the ‘why? ‘of remedial teaching is understood, the goals will be achieved ‘anyhow’.
All Centres were allotted stationery for the students and prizes for activities to be conducted during the year. Basic stationery items like note books, pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, rulers, colour pencils and drawing books were distributed to all the students.
